Physiotherapy that changes lives

There are things that once you see them… you can’t look away anymore.

In Catalonia, there is 1 physiotherapist for every 800 people.
In Senegal, 1 for every 170,000.

Cerebral palsy affects up to 4 in every 1,000 births worldwide.
And in Senegal, some associations speak of figures closer to 1 in 300.

It’s not just a statistic.
These are children with names, with stories… and with very few options.

That’s where TAWFEKH comes in —“progress” in Wolof, the most widely spoken language in Senegal— a project based in Mbour (Senegal) that works so children with neurological conditions can receive what we often take for granted: physiotherapy, care and opportunities.

A small project.
But one that truly matters.

Where does cal Fregues come in?

We believe that “Everybody needs a frega.”
And that access to physiotherapy should not depend on where you are born.

That’s why we support TAWFEKH in the way we know best:
by sharing clinical knowledge, contributing ideas… and mobilising our community.

Today, there are 6 children in the program receiving weekly physiotherapy sessions.
Our goal is clear: for Mouhamed to be the seventh.

Let’s talk numbers (the ones that matter)

One physiotherapy session in Senegal: 18€
One month of treatment: 72€
One full year: 864€

The average monthly salary there: 90€ –
100€

For Mouhamed, physiotherapy is not an extra.
It’s the difference between moving forward… or not.

How can we help?

With something as small as a bracelet.
We need 432 bracelets to make sure Mouhamed receives physiotherapy for one full year.

A small gesture.
A big change.

Because this is not about saving the world.
It’s about changing someone’s world.

And here at cal Fregues, we are clear about one thing:
everybody needs a frega… but some truly need it more.
